Savoury Muffins

These muffins are perfect for afternoon tea or even breakfast. Serve them warm spread with butter for a delightfully satisfying, better for you treat.

  • 1½ cups Wholemeal Flour
  • 1½ cups plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ cup finely chopped parsley
  • 3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 rasher lean bacon, finely chopped
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1¾ cups non-fat milk

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C.
  2. Mix the flours, baking powder, parsley, parmesan cheese, bacon and pepper together in a bowl.
  3. Make a well in the centre of your dry mixture and add the egg and milk. Lightly combine the mixture but be careful that you don’t over mix it.
  4. Spoon your mixture into greased muffin pans. Bake at 200ºC for about 10-15 minutes until your muffins are golden brown.

Serving Suggestions

Serve warm with Butter
