Healtheries is among the world's leading health food and supplement manufacturers and a recognised market leader in a number of categories particularly in the New Zealand market. The company is now a global exporter, distributing quality product on all five continents.

The Healtheries brand is owned by Vitaco Health Australia Pty Ltd (formerly Health Brands Australia) and is the result of the merging of four companies: Aussie Bodies, Healtheries, Nutra-Life and Abundant Earth and represents many familiar product brands including Protein Revival, KidsCare, Balance, Wagner, Simple and Trim.
The Vitaco portfolio covers a variety of health and lifestyle needs including sports nutrition, food allergy/intolerance, weight loss, organic foods and kids nutrition as well as general good health.
These brands represent a portfolio of over 750 products.
Our Heritage
The Healtheries name is believed to originate from a London health food convention in about 1863, but the business was not established in New Zealand until 1904. As New Zealand entered the 20th century and the former British Colony grew in prosperity, there was increasing demand for new products. Two Auckland-based flour millers decided to start a business to stonemill and package specialty flours.
Through the first half of the century, Healtheries built a reputation as a manufacturer of fine flours and health foods. In 1967, under the direction of a new owner, Healtheries started expanding its product ranges and in the early 1970s exports to Hong Kong began.
By 1979, Healtheries employed 90 people manufacturing more than 400 product lines. It was exporting more than one million product units every year to more than 20 countries including the UK, Singapore and Australia.
In recognition of this, Healtheries received a New Zealand Export Award in 1981. At this time, the original stone mill was still being used at the company's headquarters in Ellerslie, Auckland. In 1982, with the opening of new laboratories, Healtheries was the southern hemisphere's biggest manufacturer of vitamin and mineral tablets and capsules with the capacity to produce five hundred million tablets a year.
The company continued to grow and in 1994 Healtheries moved to Mt Wellington, Auckland, consolidating its manufacturing, warehousing and office activities in dedicated modern premises. Now the company employed 110 people.
In 2000 Healtheries purchased McFarlane Laboratories, renowned for their manufacture of Green Lipped Mussel extract and powder, a unique New Zealand raw material. This is sold internationally as "Biolane" Green Lipped Mussel.
In 2004, Healtheries and its 220 staff celebrated 100 years in business. And the following year the company purchased Aussie Bodies, and Australian based protein pioneer in sports nutrition. National Health Foods, an organic food and beverage company followed.
In 2006 Healtheries was sold to an Australian based private equity firm with the company still dedicated to providing products that help people enhance their natural good health.
